Goreville, Illinois is a small rural community located just 15-20 minutes from Marion IL,  in the heart of the Shawnee National Forest.  A mere five minutes from Lake of Egypt or Ferne Clyffe State Park, Goreville is a town rich in tradition and faith.  Goreville's Spring Fling, Fall Fest, and 4th of July Freedom Fest are just some of the community activities a family can experience.

Students at Goreville schools thrive in the support of the devoted community.   Goreville schools boasts a technology advanced system receiving accolades such as International SMART Showcase School and Top 50 "Future Ready" School.  Goreville offers iPads or Chromebooks for all students Pre-K through 12th grade.  The District proudly offers a variety of vocational, arts and foreign language programs in addition to a powerhouse athletics program.  Goreville High School holds 40 IHSA Regional titles and 3 State Championships including the 2016 High School Baseball and 2017 High School Softball titles!  Goreville Middle School has placed in the Jr. High State Tournament 28 times and holds 8 State titles with two state championships!
